Fall Garden

Over the last 2 years, we built a deck (in 3 stages) and added a sidewalk leading from the driveway to the back of the house around the deck.  This created an enormous opportunity for adding flowers, shrubs and flowering trees.

This is the view of the back yard with the deck, beds and sidewalk.

Wow the weather is changing fast and the day,s are getting shorter as I sit here writing. I have been working on the different gardens in the yard trying to improve the soil and get the beds ready for spring. I am already looking forward to spring and all the changes that will have happened because of the birds, the wind, or just a stray seed that happens to fall in a crack.Our garden seems to have a life of it's own and I love watching it grow up. Fall is coming

This morning was the first day this year that it really feels like fall is on the way. I can already smell the apples in the fields and the leaves on the ground ( i don't even have the leaves shredded yet from last year but I'm working on it. Lots of new plantings this year and I will post new photo's soon. We are now working on finishing the deck we added last year. We love it. Now go dig in the dirt.
